Electric drills can be divided into three categories: hand drills, impact drills, and hammer drills.

1. Electric hand drill: With low power, its usage range is limited to drilling wood and being used as an electric screwdriver. Some electric hand drills can be converted into specialized tools according to their usage, with a variety of uses and models.

2. Impact drill: There are two types of impact mechanisms for impact drills: dog tooth type and ball type. The ball impact drill is composed of a moving disc, a fixed disc, a steel ball, etc. The moving disc is connected to the main shaft through threads and comes with 12 steel balls; The fixed plate is fixed on the casing using pins and comes with 4 steel balls. Under the action of thrust, 12 steel balls roll along the 4 steel balls, causing the hard alloy drill bit to produce rotational impact motion and be able to drill holes on brittle materials such as bricks, blocks, and concrete. Remove the overhead nail, so that the fixed disc rotates together with the moving disc without producing any impact, and can be used as a regular electric drill.

3. Hammer drill (electric hammer): It can drill holes on various hard materials and has a wide range of applications.

These three types of electric drills are arranged in price from low to high, and their functions also increase accordingly. The selection needs to be combined with their respective applicable ranges and requirements.
